Come Down To The River
Since I've been working full time, I haven't had much time (or energy) to write lately. I'm not even sure who I'm writing this particular blog for, but I feel like there is a need for me to write it. So, whoever this is meant for, I hope that you enjoy it and you know that God truly loves you.
I enjoy music and how a good song can really speak to me. The song 'Lay 'Em Down' by Needtobreathe has been around for a few years, and it has a great message. This is a song that I believe anyone can relate to. This song is a good reminder that no matter where you are in life, that God is there to meet you right where you are. He doesn't care if you make a ton of money or are barely getting by. He doesn't care if you are married or single. He doesn't care where you live, where you work, or what kind of car that you drive. But ... He does love you. He does care for you. He is always there waiting to strike up a conversation with you. So, whether you have a strong relationship with God, or you're questioning his existence, or you don't know him at all ... this song is for you. He is for you.
Here is a link to the song with lyrics if you would like to hear it performed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Bf9XY0nRcw
Here are the lyrics if you would just like to read them and find yourself in there somewhere:
Come down to the river
Come and let yourself in
Make good on a promise
To never hurt again
If you're lost and lonely
You're Broken down
Bring all of your troubles
Come lay 'em down
All you sinners
And the weak at heart
All you helpless
On the boulevards
Wherever you are now
Whatever evil you've found
Bring all of your troubles
And come lay 'em down
We're all tied to the same old failing
Finding shelter in things we know
We're all dirty like corrupted small towns
We'll bring our troubles
We'll bring our troubles
Lay 'em down
All you rich men
And the high above
All of those with and without love
All you burdened broken down
Bring all of your troubles
Come lay 'em down
Romans 8:38-39: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
