It's the Final Countdown!

Greg and I were both singing "It's the Final Countdown" as we walked out of the doctors office yesterday. I had my first exam and I was dialted to a 1 and 60% effaced. For those that don't know what that means, the 1 is on a scale of 1-10 and the 60% is on a scale of 0-100%. I truly expected to be 0 and 0%, so I was pleasantly surprised.

My exam went well and Parker is in a great position (like she has been since mid December) so we asked about picking an induction date. I've always liked the number 2 and Greg likes 5 so over the years we've used those numbers, or the combined 25, as our number in sports, etc. That being said, we asked about next Thursday, Feb 2nd - 2/2/12. You can't have many more 2's than that so it seemed like a good date. The only drawback is that the 2nd is Groundhog's Day, but we can live with that. My doctor left to check the schedule and then came back with a yes and a time of 6:00am. You can tell when someone is having kid #3 when their first thought is "Great, we got the date we wanted, but do you have anything later than 6:00am!"

So, now our only goal is to keep her in until the 2nd. Ok, I'm not at all opposed to her coming early, but I at least need to get past this weekend for two reasons. Lou's 2nd birthday is Saturday and we would like for her to have her own special day, and my doctor is off this weekend. Is that to much to ask?!
